Professional Biography
Hello! My name is Katie, and I am very excited to be working with all of you! I am originally from Topeka, KS, but lived in Lawrence for the past several years and now in Kansas City. Outside of work, I enjoy anything that involves the outdoors. I love any water activities on the lake or at the pool in the summer. Travelling is a must! I love to be active and enjoy working out and playing sports.Professionally, I spent 5 years in the Emergency Department / Trauma setting as an RN prior to my career as an APRN. I have been working with Dr. Pena in Plastic Surgery since 2019. I completed my nursing degree at Washburn University, and my graduate degree through Graceland University.
I have a strong passion for breast and body surgery, including breast reconstruction, breast reduction, breast lift, breast revisions, etc., and body contouring procedures such as lower or upper body lift, abdominoplasty, liposuction, brachioplasty, or buttock lifts. I am grateful to be a part of the transformation journey with our patients, from surgical consultation to final results. It is very rewarding to be able to help patients improve their quality of life and to be there for them through their surgical journeys.
