Karlin

Professional Biography

Dr. Karlin is a fellowship trained spine surgeon whose compassionate approach and dedication to patient care reflect his local KC roots, earning him widespread recognition for his thorough, compassionate and informative clinical approach to spine care. Dr. Karlin is dedicated to providing honest, evidence-based treatment options developed from his dual orthopedic-neurosurgery fellowship which allows him to utilize both classical and emerging surgical techniques.

His desire to optimize recovery time has led him to pioneer single-position robotic oblique lumbar interbody fusions, which has significantly sped up his patients’ return to their daily activities.

Dr. Karlin is a proud husband to his lovely wife, Alyssa, and father to their three amazing kids, with a fourth on the way this fall. He attributes his exceptional bedside manner to the influence of the nurses in his life—his wife, mother, and sister—and credits his father in developing the rare ability to break down complex topics into simple, understandable language.

“Everyone I interacted with was very friendly and professional. I was extremely early to my appointment, and they were able to get me in sooner, which was unexpected and lovely. The building itself was very swanky.”

"The care, compassion, professionalism, and friendliness from the doctors and staff are hard to beat. I enjoy each visit and a piece of me will be saddened that I will no longer need to go into the office much longer (because he listens and is great at his job), Dr. Foster listens, cares, and is ready to tackle my concerns. I am grateful to be referred to Dr. Foster and hope others are receiving the same experience!"
